Checklist for Finding Places to Hunt
Identify habitat needs of the game animal you would like to hunt
Find key habitat areas for time of year you will be hunting
Find out how to gain access
Ask permission or pay appropriate lease fees
Develop a mutually beneficial relationship with landowners or managers of the area you plan to hunt
Be sure of your hunt area, and stay within legal boundaries and areas you have permission to hunt
Scout the hunt area as near as possible to your actual hunt dates
Consult friends, state agencies, managers, chambers of commerce and other sources for more information
