Cleaning a Muzzleloader

Black powder is very corrosive and guns
require cleaning after each day's use.

Remove barrel from stock

2
Immerse breech of barrel in hot, soapy water. Swab the barrel with a patch in a pumping motion until patch comes out clean

3
Wipe the barrel dry with a dry patch and lightly coat with bore lubricant

4
Dismantle action and brush parts clean

5
Use nipple pick to clear flash hole and/or nipple

6
Wipe the gun down and reassemble
