Prepare for the Weather
Spring
Clothing: Layered, sweater or jacket, cap, medium gloves, long-sleeved shirt & wool pants, sturdy hiking boots, heavy socks
Food: High carbohydrate & fats, nuts, jerky, meats, starches, bread & water
Equipment: For fire building, for shelter, knife & ax, car tools, for field care of game, for cooking, flashlight
Summer
Essentially the same except for lightweight clothing & boots, and the addition of hat, sunscreen, fruits, vegetables and lots of water
Fall
Clothing: Layered, sweater or jacket, cap, medium gloves, long-sleeved shirt & wool pants, sturdy hiking boots, heavy socks
Food: High carbohydrates & fats, nuts, jerky, meats, starches, bread & water
Equipment: For fire building, for shelter, knife & ax, car tools, flashlight, tools for field care of game, for cooking
Winter
Essentially the same except for heavier clothing layers & underwear, heavy waterproof/windproof coat, insulated boots & ties chains
