Outdoor Skills - First Aid


Warning, Hunters - this is only a field guide to treat minor injuries or emergencies. It's the hunter's responsibility to attend a Certified First-Aid CPR Course (American Heart Association or Red Cross)


Head - to - toe examination for injury should include:
Head, neck, shoulders, chest, arms, abdomen, back, pelvis, legs & feet

Vital signs you can check:
Level of consciousness, pupils, pulse, skin color, body temperature,

respiration & response to stimulus

But First!
The Primary Survey

Establish Responsiveness

Shake & Shout
"Are you all right!"

If there is no response, begin the ABC's of CPR
