A great example of the breadth of TPWD careers is in the GIS lab. Here, technology specialists, often with a background in geography, create visual representation analysis of the hundreds of thousands of data collected by TPWD biologists and researchers. The lab is always at the forefront of technology, and is yet another fascinating career at TPWD.

This is a 3-D fly-over programmed on the computer of an ancient collapsed volcano on Big Bend Ranch State Park.


Here, Steve is using a plotter that produces large maps and diagrams used by our scientists.
