The chatroom is one of the most popular features of any of our webcasts since it allows our audience to participate live from their computers. Below is the archived text of the chat that was conducted during our live broadcast. There were lots of good questions and several experts helping to answer them all. Several experts helped out during the 3–hour show including a special guest and student caver from Mexico, Frank (Francisco Javier Lopez Esquivel).

jherron: Only professional biologists should hold bats. Notice that she was wearing a glove. There is a small risk that any bat you can pick up might have rabies. So it's best to never touch a bat.

expert at the cave: Certification is not often done in the U.S. but we do teach techniques and safety. Cavers can always learn more, and try to do so.
