Dove Mortality Occurring Across Texas due to Trichomoniasis

AUSTIN –The National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) has confirmed several doves collected across Texas, including the Trans Pecos and Rolling Plains, tested positive for Trichomoniasis.

New Texas Paddling Trail Opens on Oso Bay

CORPUS CHRISTI – Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is opening a new paddling trail on Oso Bay in Corpus Christi. The Ron R. Smith Memorial Paddling Trail, the 82nd official Texas paddling trail, is named in memory of TPWD biologist Ron Smith. He was a founding member of the Texas Paddling Trails team and an alumnus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Chronic Wasting Disease Detected in Real County Deer Breeding Facility

O.H. Ivie Powers Ahead with ShareLunker 669

ATHENS – O.H. Ivie added another Legacy Class ShareLunker during the final week of the 2024 Toyota ShareLunker collection season. Angler Tery Lewis of Lubbock reeled in 13.99-pound ShareLunker 669 Thursday to push O.H. Ivie’s season total to 12 and the statewide tally to 19. It proved to be the final Legacy Class entry for the 2024 collection season.
