Neches River Rendezvous Scheduled for Saturday, June 4

ATHENS — Registration is open for the fourteenth annual Neches River Rendezvous scheduled for Saturday, June 4, at Temple-Inland’s North Boggy Slough, located where Texas Highway 7 crosses the Neches River.

The scenic 9.2-mile canoe trip follows the route of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Neches-Davy Crockett paddling trail and is designed to promote outdoor wilderness adventure in East Texas.

The event begins at 8 a.m. with free shuttle service available to and from the river. To register, contact Susie Cardwell at the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce at scardwell@lufkintexas.org or (936) 634-6644.
