Texas State Park GuideEvery year, millions of people from all over the world choose to spend their leisure time in the unique, historic and scenic places that make up our Texas State Park system. From the mile-high mountains of far West Texas, to the canyons of the Panhandle, to the countless miles of shoreline along our lakes and rivers, beaches and marshes of the Gulf Coast, few places offer the breadth of outdoor recreation we enjoy here in Texas

This guide showcases more than 90 state parks and many of the wonderful recreation opportunities that Texas has to offer. If you would like additional information, let me also encourage you to visit www.texasstateparks.org, call our Customer Service Center at (512) 389-8900, or contact an individual park. Phone numbers are listed in the directory section of this guide.

It continues to be a part of our mission to maintain parks as affordable and familyfriendly destinations. Our parks are operated by professional and knowledgeable staff members who are here to share the rich story that Texas has to tell about our natural and cultural heritage. In many parks, gear rentals and loaner equipment are also available to make your visit more enjoyable.

I encourage you to take an interpretive tour or attend a scheduled activity in one of our parks, so that when you leave, you'll take with you not only great memories, but also a deeper understanding of why our land, resources and history are so special. Thank you for choosing to spend time with us here in the Lone Star State, and on behalf of Texas Parks and Wildlife, we hope you enjoy your stay.
