A retreat in the heart of the Texas Hill Country

Parrie Haynes Ranch is comprised of two distinct parcels, the East Unit at 13816 North Maxdale Road and the West Unit at 201 Gann Branch Road. The ranch is situated along the Lampasas River on more than 4,500 acres of Hill Country terrain teeming with natural wildlife and native plants with trails that wind through rolling native prairies, pastures, cedar/oak trees and crystal clear streams.

The East Unit is home to our public camp grounds (both RV hookups and primitive), and 25 miles of multi use marked trails for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians to enjoy. Camping is first come, first serve unless otherwise noted on the Calendar of Events. The 16 camp sites include 2 pens, water and 30 amp plugs for $16.00 nights, day visitors and primitive camping is $10 daily per rig and $5 per vehicle. A trail map is available online. Shoes are highly recommended, visitors must provide their own horses.

The West Unit encompasses the Hilltop Complex Conference Center, C5 Youth Leadership summer camp, group activities and group primitive camping. With its river frontage, group lodging and facilities, mixed-use trails and convenient location, the ranch is an ideal setting for groups of all kinds to meet, learn and recreate in the Texas outdoors. The Hilltop Complex and West Unit activities are available by advance reservation only with a minimum group size of 25 persons.

Parrie Haynes Ranch is centrally located within 3-4 hours of the Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio metropolitan areas, one hour north of Austin, and 13 miles south of Killeen. Please call 254-554-3970 if you have questions or for more information.
