Texas State Parks need $4.6 million to help keep parks open.

Message from Executive Director Carter Smith

Record drought and devastating wildfires have created a critical situation for state parks.

We need to raise $4.6 million to keep state parks open, and we can't do it without you.

There are three simple ways you can help:

  1. Visit state parks often with your family and friends – visitor fees pay for about half of all park operating costs.
  2. Make a tax-deductible donation.
  3. Make a donation when it's time to renew your vehicle, boat or trailer registration.

Please act now, to help keep Texas State Parks open for everyone to enjoy. Our state parks won't be the same without you.

Thank you,
Carter Smith

Donations made when renewing your motor vehicle registration, as well as revenue from park visitor fees, are both dedicated by legal statute to state parks and cannot be used for any other purpose. Your online donation dollars, minus a small processing and administrative fee to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, will be dedicated to help keep Texas State Parks operating.
