Greater amberjacks are the largest and most common amberjacks that live along the Gulf Coast. Usually found around reefs and oil rigs in Texas waters, amberjacks live throughout the temperate and tropical Atlantic Ocean.
Although they average about 20 pounds, greater amberjacks can weigh in at 170.
