Animals of the Gulf Waters
Blacktip shark
Carcharhinus limbatus
Blacktip sharks are common in the Gulf of Mexico and live in temperate and tropical waters around the world.
Blacktips and other sharks can replace worn or missing teeth. The new teeth grow in rows behind the old ones and when a tooth comes out, a new one moves forward to fill in the gap.
