Epinephelus adscensionis
Rock hinds are one of the most common groupers found along the Texas Gulf Coast. They live near jetties and on snapper banks.
Like other groupers, rock hinds can vary on color but most often they're pale with red to brown spots on their bodies, fins and even on their tails.
