Paso al Solitario
Near the northern outer layers of the Solitario Caldera, lying close to surrounding ridges of light gray limestone rock is the Paso al Solitario Campsite. With close examination of the plants and rocks; the explorer can find horse crippler cactus and current-caused ripple marks preserved in the ancient rocks. The dark skies are astounding. Paso al Solitario is a great place to introduce children to the plants and animals of west Texas.
