The Park will be closed to the public on the following dates in order to conduct wildlife management activities. Only drawn permitted hunters will be allowed in the park during these dates.

Tuesday, December 4, at 10 p.m., until 2 p.m. on Friday, December 7.
Tuesday, December 11, at 10 p.m., until 2 p.m. on Friday, December 14.
Tuesday, December 18, at 10 p.m., until 2 p.m. on Friday, December 21.
Tuesday, December 25, at 10 p.m., until 2 p.m. on Friday, December 28.

The boat ramp is closed due to low water.

History

Colorado Bend State Park, a 5,328.3-acre facility, is located west of Lampasas in San Saba and Lampasas counties. The park site was purchased partly in 1984, with the remainder acquired in 1987; the park was subsequently opened in 1987.

The park is located at the former sites of the Gorman and Lemons ranches above Lake Buchanan.
