You will use a provided GPS unit to find hidden treasure and learn how to play a game that can be played almost anywhere. It's great for kids and adults, no experience or equipment necessary!</description>

Geocaching uses GPS technology to help you find items hidden throughout the park. All necessary equipment will be provided while you discover a game that can be played almost anywhere. &nbsp;Take the skills home with you and join in on the fun using a Smartphone Application or your own handheld GPS.<strong>&nbsp;</strong>Live a happier and healthier lifestyle by getting outside and venturing down the beautiful trails that our state parks have to offer.</p>
<p>No reservations are necessary. The event is free to the public and there is no park entrance fee.</p>
<p>All ages are welcome to attend; However, children under 13 must have an parent or guardian with them.</p>

    <description>Enthusiasic Friends of Galveston Island State Park volunteers quide the way through the bayous, coves and natural and manmade marshes of the north side of the park.</description>
    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p>Enjoy the serenity of experiencing almost all of the park habitats from water level and especially experience the long-legged wading birds and raptors as they feed, breed and nest.&nbsp;Friends of Galveston Island State Park&nbsp;has 7 tandems sit on top kayaks, paddles and life vests to accomodate 12 persons on each tour. Tours on any day can be arranged for groups up to 15 on any mutually accepteable date; time of day will depend on tides. To arrange a guided tour for you&nbsp;or your group (no group to small) I'm on the water 2 or 3 times a week anyhow. You will be getting in and out of the boat several times, so be sure to wear substantial water tolerant shoes because your feet will get wet and there are oyster beds scattered along the route.</p>]]></content:encoded>
