Nature

Backed by the rugged foothills of Davis Mountains State Park, the view in any direction is rugged, scenic and unspoiled. Unlike most of dry Trans-Pecos Texas, the Davis Mountains area is greener, and supports a wide variety of grasses and trees, along with expected desert plants. One might also see deer, javelina, fox, raccoon, porcupine, skunk, or even a black bear or a mountain lion. Bird watching is always great!

There is an interpretive center that overlooks the wildlife watering station where scrub jays, white-wing doves, curve-billed thrashers, and rock squirrels are among the most common wildlife seen.
