    <description>Join local birders at Lake Livingston State Park to help spot and record winter bird populations.  Learn to use binoculars, spotting scopes, and field guides.  All ages and experience levels welcome!</description>
    <content:encoded xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/"><![CDATA[<p>The Great Backyard Bird Count is conducted in areas around the United States in order to obtain a real-time snapshot of winter bird populations.&nbsp; Over the course of four days, volunteers record the species found in a specific area and the number of individuals seen.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This annual event at Lake Livingston State Park is&nbsp;hosted by the Pineywoods Bird and Bloom Club and Pineywood-Lakes Texas Master Naturalists.&nbsp; Their volunteers will be on hand at the Duck Pond Bird Blind between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to help&nbsp;identify birds, answer questions, and will lead afternoon discovery walks.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;Binoculars, Bird Guides and a spotting scope will be available.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;All ages and experience levels welcome, boardwalk is wheelchair accessible.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
