Lockhart State Park

Nature

Woman hiking at the parkFor a small park, we have lots of wildlife.

Watch for deer, coyotes, bobcats, foxes, raccoons, opossums, armadillos, beaver, turkeys, rabbits and squirrels.

Several types of snakes live here, too, including rattlesnakes and coral snakes.

Favorite catches in Clear Fork Creek are bass, catfish and sunfish. We loan fishing equipment for use in the park.

Many varieties of birds pass through or live in the park. Download Birds of Lockhart State Park (PDF) to see a list of the most common species.
