McKinney Falls State Park
Outdoor Nation is a national movement of young adults, aged 16 to 28, passionate about the outdoors. The Austin Outdoor Nation Summit is July 14 - 16 and McKinney Falls State Park will host many of the participants. Registration is free! Things to Do
Information on Thomas F. McKinney and the history of the park's land use is interpreted in the Smith Visitor Center. The stabilized ruins of McKinney's homestead and his horse trainer's cabin are preserved in the park. Camping, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, picnicking, fishing and wildlife observation are popular activities. Swimming is now allowed in Onion Creek; call (512) 243-1643 for current creek conditions.
Equipment Rentals
This park participates in the Angler Education "Tackle Loaner Program"; individuals can borrow rods, reels and tackle boxes with hooks, sinkers and bobbers.

The park offers a variety of educational opportunities, including guided nature hikes and the "Outdoors Kid's Club." Check the calendar for upcoming events or contact the park for special tours.
