Mother Neff State Park

August 27, 2013 - Construction has begun on the new headquarters and camping loop. The mile long hiking trail around the prairie is currently closed; all other trails, almost 4-miles total, and the playground are open.

Mon. July 21 through Thurs. July 24:  All campsites, Wood Tabernacle, Rock Tabernacle, and Breezeway will be closed during this time. 

Group Primitive Area

  • People per Site: 32

  • Yards to Facility: 150

Maximum of 32 people allowed in this group area, located on a prairie near the 1/3 acre pond. You must walk in 150 yards to the site from the parking area and it is at least 1 mile to the nearest restrooms and water.

  • Fire ring

Site has a stone fire ring, but no other facilities. Fire ring use in this area is determined by the Park based on current conditions, on a day to day basis. A portable environmental toilet is required. Check-In: 2pm, Check-Out: 2pm. If arriving after 4:30pm, call the park by 4 p.m. on the day of arrival, for the gate combination. Due to the proximity to the pond, all visitors are required to haul out their human waste and pack out all trash. Must provide enough portable privies for number of campers and length of stay.
