Tent camping is allowed outside shelters, however tent space is limited. Nails, staples, tacks or any similar items are not allowed to be placed in the wood of the screened shelters; hanging plastic, tarps etc. is permitted but must be done without harming tor marring the structure. As with all state parks, pets are not allowed inside the screened shelters or in any Texas State Park buildings. Pets cannot be unattended outside the shelters overnight.

Inside has lights, picnic table, and 20 amp electric outlet. Dimensions are 12x18 feet. Outside has water, fire ring and grill. Fully louvered back walls with 2 side walls that are half louvered and half screened. Sites are shaded (featuring Elm, Bois D'Arc and Hackberry trees). No pets allowed inside. Tents are allowed at the shelter sites in the mowed area only. Tent space is very limited. There is a maximum of 2 tents allowed per site. Placing nails, staples or anything else that causes destruction to the facility for purposes of hanging material to screen out the adverse weather conditions is not allowed. Shelter area is not recommended for large groups due to lack of parking and common areas. Pop-ups and small trailers less than 20 ft may be parked at the shelter. A maximum of 2 vehicles (any motorized, or towed vehicle, with wheels, regardless of size) are permitted to be parked at each site. No vehicles will be permitted to be parked along camping loop except for unloading purposes. Any additional vehicles will have to park at designated excess vehicle parking areas, which is a few hundred yards away. After 2 vehicles are registered to the site, each additional overnight vehicle with be charged a $5 excess vehicle fee per day.
