Land Acquisition - Walker County
Huntsville State Park

I. Executive Summary: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) staff has negotiated with a willing seller for the purchase of approximately four acres at Huntsville State Park.

II. Discussion: TPWD in its ongoing effort to connect to public water and wastewater service whenever possible has negotiated with New Forestry, LLC to purchase approximately four acres of land. These four acres are in the form of a 40-foot wide by 4,520-foot long utility right-of-way, representing the most direct route to the City of Huntsville wastewater lift station.

III. Recommendation: The staff recommends the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopt the following motion:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission authorizes the Executive Director to take all necessary steps to acquire a 4-acre tract in Walker County, Texas as an addition to the Huntsville State Park."
