Mtn. Bike Ride – Expert:  Old Tin Mine/Pole Cat/Mad Cow/Coyote Ugly/Rock Shock/Scenic Road/Mule Shoe/The Maze

Must have reservation to participate.  Please Call:  (915) 566-6441

Start: 7:00 a.m.

Length:  15 + miles/  3 - 4 + hours

*Difficulty level:  Expert. Meet at Chuck Heinrich Park. Trail starts with a hike-a-bike up the dam, then a continuous gradual climb for about 3 miles; then veer right up on Pole Cat Alley, connect with Mad Cow for some fun, single track to Coyote Ugly.  Now that you’re warmed up J get ready for some more climbing riding up Rock Shock and Scenic Road which offers elevation gain, beautiful vistas and plenty of cardio pumping hills; you’ll then have an option to either ride back down a 3 mile, downhill old jeep road or if you’ve still got some juice left, finish with some technical riding along Mule Shoe and wrap it up on The Maze trails back to the parking lot.  You’ll get a workout, but ride out with smiles and wanting more!

BRING: functional mountain bike, cycling helmet, drinking water and eye protection (sunglasses). We highly recommend that each participant also bring flat repair materials (extra inner tube, plastic tire levers, handheld bicycle pump, etc.), snacks, cycling gloves, cycling shorts, sunscreen, and a backpack or hydration pack (i.e. Camelbak).

Driving Directions to Chuck Heinrich Park:

Hwy 54 - take exit 31 toward Martin Luther King Jr Blvd/Kenworthy St.  Turn north onto Martin Luther King Jr Blvd travel 0.6 mi.  Left onto Jon Cunningham Blvd, drive to end parking lot.
