|Where||Goose Island State Park|
|Contact Name||Janelle Rand|
Adults, Children, Scouts, Everyone is welcome.
This easy one mile hike will meet at the Restrooms on Warbler Way, located in the woods camping area of Goose Island State Park. A park ranger will meet campers at the restroom. This hike will start with looking to see what can be found at the bird sanctuary, and then will head out to Turk's Cap Trail.
Learn which plants you should avoid when walking a trail and which plants can help you survive in the wilderness. We will also look for signs of wildlife on the trail; there may be birds’ nests, tracks, or we may even see or hear animals.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, the trail is several feet wide and winds through the woods. Other things that may be helpful to have include drinking water, insect repellent, a camera, or binoculars.
Everyone is welcome on this walk. The trail is wheel chair accessible, but is not level.
Walks may be postponed or canceled in event of rain.
