The different ways to get your nightly rest varied from person to person and season to season. What were beds and bedding made of? How was bedding maintained? How did people sleep on those stifling summer nights? And what exactly do they mean by “sleep tight”? A pallet on the floor, a proper bed, a private room; it really depended on what you could afford. Come and visit Fanthorp Inn to see examples of how people slept while at home and while traveling.
Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately thirty-five to forty minutes. This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
