Wetland Conservation and Management for the Texas Central Coast

Assistance Programs for Landowners

Many assistance programs are available for private landowners who are interested in developing and managing wetland habitats on their property. Depending on eligibility, some programs offer cost-share assistance to build and manage wetlands. The Texas Prairie Wetlands Project (TPWP) is a successful cost-share assistance program that develops wetland habitat on private land along the Texas Coast. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department offers technical guidance from local biologists to landowners interested in managing wetland habitat on their property. Wildlife management associations (or cooperatives) represent a group of landowners interested in improving wildlife habitat and wildlife populations on their properties. They act cooperatively towards a common set of goals and assist each other to implement effective management techniques on their properties. The following set of links provides more information about the various assistance programs offered in the Texas Central Coast.
