AUSTIN – This Father’s Day forgo the gaudy neckties and register to win a gift for dad that will never go out of style – a lifetime of free hunting and fishing in Texas.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is offering outdoors enthusiasts in Texas another chance to enter the Lifetime License Drawing for a chance to win a lifetime Super Combo hunting and fishing license. The drawing will take place on June 30, but entries for the drawing must be purchased by midnight of June 27. Entries for the lifetime Super Combo license – a $1,800 value – are only $5.

This license package will permanently exempt the lucky winner from having to purchase new state hunting and fishing licenses each year. The winner, however, is not exempt from the Federal Duck Stamp Requirement.

All proceeds from the drawing will go toward the department’s on-the-ground conservation efforts. More than 10,000 entrants registered for the first drawing, raising more than $48,000 for TPWD conservation programs.

“The money helps keep Texas a great place to hunt and fish,” TPWD marketing coordinator Carly Montez said.

Entries can be purchased anywhere Texas hunting and fishing license are sold or online at tpwd.texas.gov/licenses/. Participants can also buy an entry over the phone by calling 1 (800) TX LIC 4 U (895-4248).

Only Texas residents are eligible to win the Lifetime License. Participants may purchase as many entries as they like, and the winner may also give the license as a gift to a friend or family member who is also a Texas resident.
