Public Invited to Outdoor Adventure Showcase at LBJ State Park

STONEWALL — Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site presents a day of family fun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, featuring adventure and hands-on experiences for all ages. Representatives from a dozen central Texas state parks and state natural areas will be on hand to showcase the area’s rich natural and cultural resources.

Lake Livingston State Park Piloting New Campsite Reservation System

LIVINGSTON – Campers planning to visit Lake Livingston State Park in the Pineywoods can now select a specific campsite while making reservation under a one-year pilot program introduced recently. The site-specific reservations policy is unprecedented in the Texas State Park system, which has always operated on a first-come, first-served basis when securing a campsite.

Tree Planting Slated for San Jacinto Battleground Prairie

LAPORTE – Volunteers from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Shell Oil Co. and Apache Corporation on Feb. 6 will be planting almost 300 trees at San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site as part of an ongoing prairie restoration project.
