Dates Open: Open for teal and duck hunters during hunting season. A reservation is needed for wildife tours. Contact the Area Manager for specific dates.

General Access

The Mad Island WMA is located nine miles east of Collegeport on the upper Texas coast and consists of fresh to brackish marsh. The Gulf of Mexico and Intracoastal Waterway forms the southern boundary of the Area.

Permits Required

Visitors 17 years of age or older must possess an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit or Limited Public Use (LPU) Permit. Permits for waterfowl hunts are issued at the check station the day of the hunt.
