Charges Filed in Galveston Hit-and-Run Boating Accident

AUSTIN – Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens have filed felony charges against a Galveston man accused of failing to stop and render aid while operating a motorboat that collided with a sailboat in the Galveston Channel Sunday night.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Creates New Marine Investigations Unit

AUSTIN – Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Law Enforcement Division has formed a new Marine Investigations Unit made up of Texas game wardens who will work to combat boat theft, personal watercraft theft and related fraud.

Texas Game Wardens Seize Illegally Hunted Wildlife Mounts and Drugs in Williamson County

TEMPLE — Texas Game Wardens and Williamson County sheriff’s deputies serving a search warrant at a Williamson County residence over the weekend seized a collection of illegally taken wildlife mounts, a quantity of marijuana and $4,000 in cash.

Blood Alcohol Task Force Formed In Burnet County

AUSTIN – A coalition of prosecutors and law enforcement organizations have a new tool in the fight to save lives and stop driving and boating while intoxicated in the Highland Lakes west of Austin: a new, 24-hour blood sampling process that will start April 1 based in Burnet. The new system is supported by a broad coalition called the Burnet County Blood Alcohol Taskforce, which includes Texas Game Wardens.

Operation Shark Fin targets illegal gill netting and long lines along lower coast

AUSTIN — Operation Shark Fin, a four-day, around-the-clock Texas Parks and Wildlife Department law enforcement effort along the lower coast aimed at disrupting trans-national criminal organizations engaged in illegal commercial fishing and other activities in the Gulf of Mexico, the Rio Grande, and Lake Falcon has resulted in the seizure of 17,500 feet of long lines, two vessels and 15 citations or arrests.
